Carrie Jurney

President Emeritus

Carrie graduated from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She was awarded her Neurology diplomate in 2009 and her Advanced Neurology Certificate in 2011. Carrie practices throughout the U.S. as a neurologist and is also an enthusiastic lecturer.

Carrie joined NOMV as a Facebook Moderator and served as Secretary before becoming President. Her experiences in NOMV led to her seeking continuing education in mental health to better understand and be a part of the solution. Carrie is a founding board member of NOMV.

Taylor Miller

DVM

Taylor is a 2010 graduate of the Oregon State College of Veterinary Medicine and a Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Oregon. Her interest in mental health began during vet school and culminated in the pursuit of a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. After nine years exclusively in the veterinary world, she has restructured her time to focus on her mission of improving the mental health and well-being of veterinary professionals as a counselor and educator.

Taylor is co-chair of the Education Committee, serves on the Student Support Committee, and is an active speaker in support of NOMV’s education initiative. She joined the NOMV Board of Directors in 2022.

Caitlin Furlong

Secretary

Caitlin’s dad is a small animal veterinarian, which meant she was surrounded by animals since day one. In 2018, Caitlin joined an equine veterinary practice as the Marketing and Events Coordinator where she started to learn about veterinary suicide and the lack of resources readily available. Caitlin’s vision for NOMV led to establishing NOMV’s largest annual fundraiser – the NOMV Race Around the World!

Her passion in joining the NOMV Board as Secretary is to create positive mental health initiatives/resources for the veterinary profession. Caitlin joined the NOMV Board of Directors in 2020.

Paul Mataras

Treasurer

Paul resides in Boston, Massachusetts, and serves as a Managing Partner at Boston Veterinary Clinic. He earned his MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business with an emphasis on Finance. Paul began serving as a NOMV Board Member in 2020, and became NOMV Treasurer in 2022.

Peter Vincett

Board Member

Pete grew up in rural Ontario, Canada, where from a young age he was surrounded by farms and animals and quickly appreciated the human-animal bond relationship. Since 2020, Pete has served as Chief Commercial Officer for a pet aftercare company, and previously he served as a senior executive at several other companies. Pete brings 20+ years of broad general management business experience combined with extensive international experience having worked on 4 continents and 10 countries. When not working, he values spending time with his wife and 2 daughters.

Pete joined the NOMV Board of Directors in 2023.

Jennifer Glasgow

Board Member

Jenny knew animals would be an important part of her life from a very early age. She has spent the last 30+ years as a small animal vet tech caring for her four-legged friends. Jenny is also the CEO of a national medical/legal company as well as a tech founder, focusing on both canine and feline weight management. She has seen and felt first-hand the mental health struggles in the veterinary profession and is committed to helping reach out a hand on those dark days. When she’s not working, you can find her on her farm with her husband, son, 2 Border Collies, a sassy cat, chickens, and 4 spoiled rotten goats.

Brian Bourquin

President

Fueled by childhood dreams of being a keeper at his own zoo, Brian (also known as “Dr. B”) realized from a young age his path – a career in veterinary work. His journey began with graduation from Cornell University (the number 1 school in the U.S. for veterinary medicine). After 13 years as a Boston veterinarian, he founded Boston Veterinary Clinic in 2012, emphasizing trust, compassion, and top-level patient care.

Brian joined the NOMV Board of Directors in 2020 and accepted the role of Board President in 2024.

Gigi Tsontos

Executive Director

Gigi Tsontos, LCSW, MPA, aka, Angelique, joined NOMV in January 2024. After studying Social Welfare Policy at the University of Kansas, Gigi spent two years in Mali West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer, returning to complete a Master of Science in Social Work at Columbia University and a second Masters in Public Administration from San Diego State University. Her career led her to work in social services, homeless services, mental health, victims’ rights, and nutrition supporting administrative roles and becoming a clinical social worker licensed in California and Kansas. Gigi lives in Kansas with her husband and 4 furry children. She sees the world as her home and has traveled extensively.

Danielle Constein

Director of Finance & Operations

Danielle’s desire to work on causes close to her heart led her to leave a career in restaurant management for the non-profit world. As the Operations Manager at Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation, Danielle served the WWII Japanese American Incarceration Site with a variety of duties from financial management to program creation to volunteer management.

In September 2020, Danielle joined NOMV, an organization that speaks to her heart. She began as the operations administrator and has moved into the role of Director of Finance & Special Projects​. Danielle, who lives less than an hour from Yellowstone National Park, is an avid adventurer with a love of the land, which she explores with her husband and their Dachshund, Bugg.

Katie Lawlor

Director of Mental Health and Engagement

Katie received her doctorate from the joint program between the Stanford University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. She trained at both the Stanford University Medical Center and the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), neuropsychology, and human-animal interactions (HAI). Before her career in clinical psychology, Dr. Lawlor held positions with NBC News in Beijing and New York City, the U.S. Department of State in Washington DC, and the Governor’s Office of California. She holds a Master’s in economic policy from Columbia University and a BA from the University of Notre Dame.
