NOMV’s Race Around the World began as a fundraiser, but has transformed into something far greater. This global event has become an important outreach and awareness program for NOMV. Its goal is to involve, engage, and energize a movement to elevate wellness in veterinary medicine. 

This year, we are thrilled to announce some exciting changes and improvements to the Race Around the World event! First, the event will now be held in May for Mental Health Awareness month, emphasizing the importance of elevating mental wellbeing within the veterinary profession.

Additionally, we have found a new platform that we are confident will be the best for the Race Around the World. The platform, PledgeIt, bundles our favorite features from the previous platforms, offering an enhanced experience for all participants.

What is the NOMV Race Around the World?

The Race Around the World is an annual fundraiser to support and raise awareness for NOMV. Participants sign up online and then track their activities throughout the month. Participants also raise money through their personal fundraising page!

When is the NOMV Race Around the World?

Race Around the World will now take place throughout the month of May for Mental Health Awareness Month!

How do I sign up to participate?

What integrations are there?

Is there merchandise?

NOMV wants to make our Race Around the World personalized to fit your needs. Your registration fee goes to cover the costs of the race and to NOMV’s programs with no extras taken out for t-shirts, etc. If you want merch, we will have a selection of items now available in the NOMV Shop!

What is the money raised used for?

NOMV is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Everything we accomplish relies on the generosity of our donors. The funds raised are allocated by the NOMV Volunteer Board of Directors based on programmatic needs. Because the Race Around the World is such a large part of our annual income, we use the funds raised to support several programs including: support grants to individuals in crisis, educational programming, peer support programs, and special projects like CLEAR Blueprint and NOMV Ambassadors.

Are there winners?

Technically everyone who participates is a winner because all participants develop their wellbeing while simultaneously raising awareness and funds for a common cause with thousands of other people across the globe! But, yes, there are also actual winners. Throughout the race there is a visible leaderboard that lets us know which individuals and teams are raising the most money and which are racking up the most miles for our mission.
