Board of Directors

Jennifer Glasgow, Tech

Board President

Jenny knew animals would be an important part of her life from a very early age. She has spent the last 30+ years as a small animal vet tech caring for her four-legged friends. Jenny is also the CEO of a national medical/legal company as well as a tech founder, focusing on both canine and feline weight management. She has seen and felt first-hand the mental health struggles in the veterinary profession and is committed to helping reach out a hand on those dark days. When she’s not working, you can find her on her farm with her husband, son, 2 Border Collies, a sassy cat, chickens, and 4 spoiled rotten goats.

Debra Hamilton

Board Secretary

Debra Hamilton, principal of Hamilton Law and Mediation and Hamilton ADR North Carolina, is a 1983 graduate of Cardozo Law School and was admitted to the NY Second Department Bar in 1984. She specializes in alternative dispute resolution for animal-related conflicts within the pet service industry. A best-selling author and international speaker, she hosts the “Why Do Pets Matter” podcast and The MAAP Plan community calls. Major media outlets including The New York Times and Wall Street Journal regularly seek her expertise on animal-related mediation. She breeds and shows Irish Setters and English Cockers under the Rumraisin prefix.

Nir Ben-Ari, DVM

Board Treasurer

Dr. Nir Ben-Ari’s deep-rooted passion for animal care began in his youth, where he was responsible for a diverse range of pets. This sense of fulfillment and responsibility has shaped his career, which spans across the globe, from the Galápagos Islands to Israel and the United States. After spending the first eight years of his career as an emergency room clinician, Dr. Ben-Ari went on to found PetMedic, the first pure urgent care clinic for pets in the Northeast. While serving as its chief medical officer, PetMedic expanded to over 10 locations along the East coast. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Ben-Ari volunteers at a low-cost clinic, and enjoys yoga, surfing, and spending time with his wife, two sons, and dog.

Kathy Gervais

Board Member

Dr. Kathy Gervais is an accomplished veterinarian with a deep commitment to both domestic and wildlife animal care. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Animal Science from the University of California, Davis, and went on to attend the University of Minnesota Veterinary School. Dr. Gervais is a founding member of Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS), an organization in San Francisco that assists individuals with AIDS and other disabilities in keeping their animal companions. In addition, Dr. Gervais is featured in the documentary “The Weight They Carry,” highlighting her multifaceted contributions to the veterinary world while highlighting the need for veterinary mental health care. She is a founding member of the crucial program Veterinary Mental Health Support (VMHS). Dr. Gervais is a passionate advocate for wildlife conservation. She volunteers regularly in Namibia with the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) and is an active member of the Wildlife Conservation Network.

Lissa Capitano, DVM, CCFP, MHFA

Board Member

Lissa Capitano is a passionate advocate for mental health in the veterinary profession, blending over 20 years of experience with a mission to make a difference. As a certified compassion fatigue professional and a long-time NOMV Resources Committee volunteer, she provides support to veterinary professionals in crisis. Based in Charlotte, NC, she shares her home with her husband Jack, her kids Charlie and Max, two English Bulldogs Lola and Booger, and an orange cat named Little Kitty. When she’s not working, you’ll find her listening to podcasts, searching for fabulous shoes, playing extreme Sudoku, or collecting sparkly jewelry.

Lauren Jones

Board Member

Lauren Jones, VMD, CVBL is a veterinarian, practice owner, and the Director of Veterinary Medicine at Shepherd Veterinary Solutions. In her professional roles, she is dedicated to creating healthier and more supportive veterinary workplaces. Dr. Jones blends clinical experience with operational and leadership expertise to reduce burnout, strengthen practice culture, and build practice structures that enhance the well-being of veterinary teams. She lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, three children, two cats, and one horse. In her free time, she enjoys watching sports, practicing yoga, reading, and horseback riding—activities that help her stay grounded and connected to the balance she advocates for within the profession.

Tiffany Tupler, DVM CBCC-KA, HABc

Board Member

Dr. Tiffany Tupler, DVM, CBCC-KA, HABc, graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary  Medicine with a certificate in shelter medicine in 2012. Before enrolling at the University of Florida, she spent 15+ years working as a licensed veterinary technician in specialty medicine with an interest in anesthesia and orthopedics. As a veterinarian, she received certificates in the human-animal bond and fear-free shelters. She worked for 10+ years at various animal welfare organizations helping create outreach programs and access to care in underserved communities by offering spectrum of care medicine.  Her professional interests include community medicine and  accessibility to care, shelter medicine, veterinary forensics, disaster response, and small animal behavior and training education. She devotes much of her time assisting domestic and international animal welfare organizations with community medicine and high volume/high quality spay neuter projects. When she’s not practicing veterinary medicine, she volunteers at a local nonprofit book house that supports literacy programs for children and adults. She enjoys traveling and hiking all over the world with Morty, her amazing superpup, vegan cooking with her 4 cats – Bitty, Tomato, Carrot, and Franklin -board game nights with friends and having deep discussions about the Star Wars universe.

Thomas Vega, DVM

Board Member

Dr. Thomas Vega is a Chicago-based veterinarian, relief practitioner, and the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Concierge Companions Vet Med, a concierge mobile veterinary practice dedicated to strengthening the human–animal bond through accessible, relationship-driven care. As a highly regarded relief veterinarian, he supports hospitals across the Chicagoland area with a focus on collaboration, communication, and compassionate medicine. Dr. Vega is a second-career veterinarian, bringing an extensive background in communications leadership, project management, and people development. His first career centered on guiding teams, supporting individuals, optimizing workflows, and cultivating healthy workplace culture—experience that informs his deep commitment to advancing wellbeing within the veterinary profession. He joins the Not One More Vet Board of Directors with a passion for service, advocacy, and creating sustainable support systems for veterinary professionals at all stages of their careers. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Vega enjoys spending time with his husband, Daniel, and their two dogs: Boston Terrier Ellis Esquire and their newly adopted Chihuahua, Chencho.

Charlotte Weir, Practice Manager

Board Member

Charlotte Weir is passionate about building happy, healthy, and productive teams that help veterinary businesses thrive. With more than a decade of experience across advisory, startup leadership, and founder roles, she specializes in growth that is smart, sustainable, and grounded in real-world operations.  She helped start and scale Petwell Partners from a small group of Texas clinics to 52 practices and later drove Roo’s expansion from a small Texas startup to a nationwide platform. As co-owner of 2525 Sunset Veterinarians, Charlotte stays closely connected to the daily work of creating positive experiences for pets, clients, and teams. She’s driven by a belief that when teams are supported and aligned, the entire veterinary community benefits.

Gigi Tsontos, LCSW, MPA, PCC

Executive Director

Gigi Tsontos,  aka, Angelique, joined NOMV in January 2024. After studying Social Welfare Policy at the University of Kansas, Gigi spent two years in Mali West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer, returning to complete a Master of Science in Social Work at Columbia University and a second Masters in Public Administration from San Diego State University. Her career led her to work in social services, homeless services, mental health, victims’ rights, and nutrition supporting administrative roles and becoming a clinical social worker licensed in California and Kansas. Gigi lives in Kansas with her husband and 5 furry children. She sees the world as her home and has traveled extensively.

Danielle Constein

Director of Finance & Operations

Danielle’s desire to work on causes close to her heart led her to leave a career in restaurant management for the non-profit world. As the Operations Manager at Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation, Danielle served the WWII Japanese American Incarceration Site with a variety of duties from financial management to program creation to volunteer management.

In September 2020, Danielle joined NOMV, an organization that speaks to her heart. She began as the operations administrator and has moved into the role of Director of Finance & Special Projects​. Danielle, who lives less than an hour from Yellowstone National Park, is an avid adventurer with a love of the land, which she explores with her husband and their Dachshund, Bugg.

Danny Rosenmund

Director of Programs & Outreach

Danny came to work at the intersections of people and animals while completing his Master’s in Historical Musicology at the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. Since then, he has held a wide variety of roles at non-profit animal shelters ranging from front-line kennel work and admissions counseling to volunteer coordination and shelter management. He joined NOMV in October 2021 in part to help support the veterinary professionals that he worked with in sheltering. He is committed to helping people who love animals have the resources they need. Originally from Virginia, Danny lives in western Pennsylvania with his wife and their shelter alumni: cats Louie and Eliza, and dogs Jolene and Annabelle.

Katie Lawlor

Director of VMHS

Katie received her doctorate from the joint program between the Stanford University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. She trained at both the Stanford University Medical Center and the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), neuropsychology, and human-animal interactions (HAI). Before her career in clinical psychology, Dr. Lawlor held positions with NBC News in Beijing and New York City, the U.S. Department of State in Washington DC, and the Governor’s Office of California. She holds a Master’s in economic policy from Columbia University and a BA from the University of Notre Dame.

Susie Mitchell

CLEAR Blueprint Program Manager

Susie spent 12 years working as a veterinary technician, where she experienced firsthand both the rewards and challenges of the profession. Inspired to support others in the field, she went on to complete her Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) with a focus in Veterinary Social Work (VSW) at the University of Tennessee. Susie is passionate about helping veterinary professionals care for their well-being so they can thrive in their work and lives. When she’s not working, she loves cooking, camping, road trips to National Parks, and spending time with her two dogs and one cat.

Cassiopeia Lee

Programs Specialist

In the late 20th century, Cass was born on the West Coast of the United States. They graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a bachelor’s in community studies focusing on health justice. Cass joined NOMV in March 2023 after previously working as a public assistance caseworker. They enjoy a variety of enrichment activities such as cooking, gardening, and playing the guitar.

 

Kendall Johnson

Operations & Volunteer Specialist

Kendall has a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation from Unity Environmental University and a B.A. in Music Education from Truman State University. She joined NOMV in 2024 after previously doing environmental justice work in the nonprofit sector. As the child of two veterinarians, Kendall grew up immersed in vet med and has worked with veterinary professionals for two decades. She deeply understands the importance of mental health awareness in the field, and is a passionate advocate for improving mental health and access to resources in the veterinary community and beyond.

She currently lives on a farm just outside of Kansas City, MO with her horses, dog, cat, ball python, and chickens. In her free time, Kendall enjoys riding horses, spending time in her garden, and exploring nature.

Garrett Lloyd

Communications & Development Coordinator

Garrett Lloyd is a creative strategist with many years of experience leading communications and fundraising for non-profit organizations. He obtained bachelor’s degrees in marketing and communication from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Garrett is excited about supporting NOMV and raising awareness of mental health in the veterinary field. In his free time, Garrett enjoys playing sports, cooking, and playing with his dogs.
