Volunteer Spotlight: Tosha Zimmerman, CVT
How long have you volunteered with NOMV?
September 2019
What is your role(s) with NOMV?
Admin of the NOMVSS group, serve on the Moderator committee.
What’s your professional role?
Director of Operations at Suveto.
What’s your favorite thing about volunteering for NOMV?
The strong bonds I have formed with other volunteers as well as knowing we are all making a difference, including our members.
Why do you volunteer for NOMV?
I believe strongly in that we are here to help others and being a part of NOMV gives me a platform to help my peers who needs it most. Making sure our members know they are not alone and that we support them without judgement is my number one priority.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I was junior rodeo queen in my hometown of Ozark, AL.
Where are you located?
Delaware
Why are you committed to the NOMV mission?
Making sure everyone of my peers has a place they can come to for support/advice is a step in making sure they are heard. Knowing we are doing everything we can to make sure members know they matter is why I am committed to the mission.
What goals do you have for the future of your profession?
That every single employee in veterinary medicine has affordable access to therapy if needed. I would love for employers to have a benefit/stipend available to assist with the cost of care since most people can’t afford it.
What are your aspirations within NOMV?
I would love to eventually become a board member as well as volunteer my time as long as I am here to do so.
